I am super excited to be sharing this post with you all after the podcast's first Sign Time episode covering LEO! I thought this would be a great way to share some information about zodiac signs and incorporate astrology into every day life.
Let's touch base about Leo briefly:
The zodiac sign of the Lion, ruled by the sun, roars proudly around July 23 and retreats with summer around August 22, just in time for harvest and for Virgo to arrive.
They share energy with the element of Fire (talk about enthusiastic and able to light up a room), and the quality of their sign is fixed, meaning they can be...well, a bit stubborn.
The sign itself is masculine and a phrase usually associated with Leo is “I will.”
Bodily associations include the heart, spine, circulatory system, spleen, and hair.
Their season is definitely summer, and colors tied to the lions are gold, red, orange, and sunflower yellow.
Some Leo keywords: vitality, bold, bossy, courageous, dramatic, loyal, loving, unrelenting, joyous, impatient, and geneous.
And like I promised on the podcast, I created a sheet to give you some ideas of bringing Leo energy into your life! You can download it below, but I have also included some information where I elaborate on the four items on the graphic.
I mentioned carrying sunstone in your pocket for some roaring reinforcement.
Energymuse.com writes of sunstone:
Possessing energy as bright and cheery as its vibrant aesthetic, the Sunstone crystal meaning is linked with the playful whimsy of childhood. While maintaining the daily stress of adulting in the modern world, Sunstone reminds us to keep a healthy balance between career demands and fun in the sun. First discovered in Norway, the Sunstone crystal is linked with ancient Norse texts that reference the Vikings using it to navigate the seas. Thanks to tiny particles of Hematite, Sunstone gets it distinctive shimmer from light-reflecting properties, which these famous seafarers used to catch rays of light from the sun, the undisputed GPS of Mother Nature. Call on the Sunstone crystal meaning and learn how to make peace with your past mistakes. After all, it's our imperfections that help us grow and transform. Wherever you happen to be on your spiritual journey, hold the Sunstone crystal in your hand and give yourself permission to love yourself unconditionally, letting go of painful memories of the past and moving forward, just like the sun rises and sets in the never-ending cycle of night and day. When it comes to its vibrant aesthetic, Sunstone is as dazzling as its namesake. It gets its distinctive shimmery finish from aventurescence, which is caused by tiny prisms of red copper or hematite. Always feel the invigorating vibes of cheery Sunstone by wearing it on a necklace. Its intense orange color reflects its link to the Sun, its ruling celestial object, and also its power to brighten up and clear away clouds of pessimism.
Leo's are also all about presentation. Summertime is perfect for putting together colorful ensembles that really show off personality. I threw this together with my favorite Leo, the__afrodite, in mind:
And what better way to get you in the mood than a custom playlist? Mixtapes are some of my favorite ways to share music with friends. You can always hop on Spotify and create one, or you can check out playlists made by other users. This one by Dominique Pricilla is specifically for Leos!
Finally, I am encouraging everyone to study candle magic! It is very accessible to most witches (you can grab a couple of candles at a Dollar Tree for a few bucks!) Candle spells are probably one of the easiest ways to explore magic, so it is great for spoonie witches as well.
Every witch is different when it comes to casting spells and incorporating candles. For some, it is simply lighting the wick and saying a incantation. Others choose a candle using color and scent associations. It is entirely up to you how you use this type of magic in your rites and rituals. But because we are exploring candle magic with Leo season in mind, we might as well discuss the element of fire.
The White Goddess website says of the element of fire:
The element of Fire is both creative and destructive...It is fire that we and our ancestors used to warm our homes, we use it to cook our food, we sit around it to ward of the darkness of night, and it fuels our passions. Fire, unlike the other elements, does not exist in a natural state. Its physical form can only take place by consuming some other element. Fire is the transformer, converting the energy of other objects into other forms: heat, light, ash, and smoke...
In order to gain benefit from the energy of this element, we need to control Fire's destructive aspect. When we light a candle, we are not only calling upon the energy of Fire, we are also limiting its power. This destructive aspect should not be seen as negative, forest fires, actually help, clearing away underbrush and encouraging seeds lying dormant within the Earth to burst forth into new life.
I hope this information helps you during Leo season! Be sure to download the sheet to tuck into your spellbooks and magic binders! (Click to begin you DL!)
